Sector Standards - Employers Statement

Many employers understand the dangers of the race to the bottom - of cutting pay, terms and conditions in order to make their bids for services cheaper. They understand that the deterioration in services, burnout and high turnover of employees, and increased risk to clients that this brings is not good for their service users, not good for their staff and an unsustainable long-term business strategy. The Sector Standards are a way for commissioners and employers to take wages, terms and conditions out of the commissioning process and allow it to focus instead on standards of delivery, quality and value for money. Commissioners and employers who want to know more about the Standards are invited to discuss them with Unite.
