New Guide and Health & Safety Meeting - Lockdown 2021

The new year has brought a new set of restrictions as the country entered another national lockdown.

 

Emergency Branch Meeting

 

 

The Unite Housing Workers Branch has scheduled an emergency meeting on health and safety under the new restrictions. The meeting is open to all members.

 

Martin Powell-Davies - Special Guest Speaker

 

 

Martin is a long-serving member of the National Education Union and was London Regional Secretary between 2016 and 2019.  Martin qualified worked as a science teacher alongside serving as a local union officer, building workplace power and organising many successful campaigns. He has vigorously opposed education cuts, academisation, and excessive workloads. Currently, Martin is primarily focussed on the Covid-19 risks for all workers in schools, and defending members’ pay and conditions.

We also hope to hear from a senior officer from Unite's highly skilled legal team will provide advice on how the new restrictions affect workers, and the implications for our employment rights in the workplace.

Our guide offers pointers on working from home, PPE for those who need to go into work, travel arrangements, shift patterns, holiday entitlements and furlough.
