Branch Secretary :

No Vote No Voice campaign

Unite has launched a campaign - #novotenovoice - to get one million people registered to vote in the Mat 7th election.  A red bus is criss crossong the country to highlight the issue.

New registration arrangements are meaning people are dropping off registers; groups not registered are exactly the groups politicians tend to ignore.

Click here to register yourself now (you just need your National Insurance number).

Just 44% of people aged 18 to 24 voted in the last election. 37% of people on zero hours contracts are aged 16-24.

Black and ethnic minorities were three times less likely to be registered to vote than white Britons in 2010.

Only 58% of private renters are registered to vote compared to almost 90% of owner occupiers.

Dont forget our branch manifesto on housing. We are encouraging members to take it to candidates to ask them to support - let us know how you get on.  Click here for the manifesto.
