Housing Workers and an Increase in Tenant Suicide Threats
Almost half of housing staff have experienced resident suicide threats according to a recent report from the consultancy, 'Straight Forward'. Just 25% of workers report feeling well equipped to deal with the situation. The Impact of Welfare Reform on Housing Employees' report shows that the bedroom tax in particular has changed relationships between housing workers and tenants. Branch members experiencing these problems are encouraged to come along to branch meetings on the second Tuesday of every month, discuss the issues, and get support from reps in their own and other workplaces.
