Branch Secretary :

Branch Speaker - Len Hockey - Barts Health Branch!

We are delighted to confirm a great guest speaker for our forthcoming branch meeting.

About Len Hockey

Len has been a porter at Whipps Cross for almost 30 years, and is the Secretary of the local Unite health branch. They have regularly hit the press for their militant stand on behalf of their most vulnerable workers. In 2017, Len led more than 700 cleaners, security guards, catering staff and porters in successful strike action against sub-contractor Serco, coordinating with strike action at the Bank of England and British Airways. The Barts strike followed a staggering 99% vote in favour of action. Len will talk about how they built for the action and how it unfolded.

As we prepare for strike ballots at both the Homes and Communities Agency and St Mungos, this meeting offers a crucial opportunity to discuss the fight for better pay and improvements in working conditions which must be won across the whole housing sector. Please join us!

Meetings are open to all members. You can raise issues, get support, and help direct the work of the branch.
