Nominate Now in the Alternative Housing Awards!

Tuesday 3rd July 2018

Housing association bosses love nothing more than adding to their shelf of nice shiny accolades. But instead of bosses’ self-congratulations, SHAC (the housing association workers and residents group) wants residents and workers to have a say.

Cast your vote anonymously online hereVoting closes on Friday 17th August.

Through The Alternative Housing Awards we will name and shame associations for their bad behaviour. In a sector dripping with wealth, there is no excuse for poverty pay, inadequate repairs, and service charge hikes, but these features prevail.  See phots of last year's awards here.

You can nominate under six landlord and four employer categories, naming and shaming those with a poor track record on rent rises, maintenance and repairs, service charges, poverty pay, and punitive performance management.

The tarnished trophies will be presented to board and executives as they leave their glitzy National Housing Awards:

  • Thursday 6 September 2018
  • 5.30pm
  • The Grosvenor House Hotel
  • 86-90 Park Lane
  • Mayfair
  • London W1K 7TN

More updates will follow.
