Grenfell Anniversary Event - 14th June

The Unite Housing Branch and the Social Housing Action Campaign (SHAC) will participate in the Grenfell anniversary event on the 14th June.

There will be wreath laying at Grenfell Tower (Silchester Road) at 6.15, a multi-faith vigil at 7pm, and a silent march at 7.45pm (map).

The Grenfell Fire 2017

The fire in 2017 killed 72 people in total, and devastated the lives of many more, traumatised by the suffering they witnessed during and after the tragedy. Ahead of the fire, residents had warned of the fire risk arising from the unsuitable cladding, but their warnings had been ignored.

Grenfell United, one of the groups representing survivors, has been critical of the government's slow and insufficient action, both to support those affected and to have similar cladding removed from dwellings.
