Next Branch Meeting - Tuesday 9th July

Please come along and tell us about the issues for members in your workplace; we can discuss strategies, and identify branch support:

  • 6pm - 8pm

  • Tuesday 11th June

  • Unite HQ

  • 128 Theobalds Road WC1X 8TN

  • Download the Agenda here.

All members will receive a warm welcome. We'll have light refreshments available and can assist with travel and carer costs. Please contact Suzanne Muna, Branch Secretary, to let us know what you need.

Workplaces Heating Up

Our reps are reporting issues around pay, workplace bullying, relentless restructuring, and a draconian use of disciplinary measures against Black, Asian and minority ethnic members. Come along to the branch and tell us about your experiences. The discussion can help identify strategies and joint working with other workplaces experiencing similar issues.

National Shop Stewards Network (NSSN) Conference

Our flyer provides details of the NSSN conference this weekend. It's an excellent opportunity to meet some of the most effective reps and activists and get involved in workshops to share ideas and mutual support. Our branch is funding ten places, so please contact us if you would like to come. Saturday 6th July, 11am - 4.30pm, Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL.

The Battle for Deptford Documentary

We will discuss donating towards the Battle for Deptford documentary. This new film describes a beloved community wildlife garden and a block of council homes in south east London, which are threatened with demolition as part of a regeneration scheme, and the residents' and local people's fight to save them for the good of their community. Watch a three minute teaser here.

We hope to see you at the meeting.
