Victimised Mungos Worker Speaks - November Branch Meeting

St Mungos was found guilty at Tribunal of victimising one of its workers for bringing an equal pay claim. The worker will speak at the next branch meeting. The finding adds to the long list of misdemeanors committed by the organisation, including being forced to apologise for sharing data on migrant rough sleepers. It takes place against a backdrop of industrial unrest at the organisation:

Unite Housing Workers Branch Meeting

Time: 6pm – Informal Greeting / 6.30pm - 8pm – Branch Business

Date: Tuesday 12th November 2019

Venue: Room 2, Unite HQ, 128 Theobalds Road, London WC1X 8TN (near Holborn tube)

Victimised for bringing an equal pay claim against St Mungos, a recent Employment Tribunal judgement found that St Mungos had victimised its worker. The HR director had told her partner that she would never work in the organisation again. The victimised worker who had brought her claim through Unite, will describe how she ultimately won justice, and what the case says about St Mungos executives’ ethical values. See more here.

See the full agenda here.

We will also hear reports of the ballot at Peabody Trust and Unite activity in other workplaces. We will discuss motions on climate change and industrial action by the postal workers union the CWU.

The meeting is open to all members and travel and carer costs can be covered. For further information, please contact branch secretary, Suzanne Muna.
