Resident support for St Mungo’s strikers

Striking against management bullying and union victimisation

Branch members in St Mungo’s Property Services team have been on all out strike against management bullying and union victimisation since April 22nd.

Unite is heartened by the support we have received from members of the public, other unions and most importantly from St Mungo's clients.  Two of these clients has asked us to share the messages below.

If St Mungo's are serious that clients are "At the heart of what we do", then CEO Steve Douglas should take notice.  St  Mungo's should be applying the same basic principle to their staff, who are the ones who provide this vital support to our clients

I would like you to share the support message. I spoke with some of the Union picketers, and explained, I also am experiencing institutional abuse/ neglect and lack of care, from St. Mungo's Management.

That this happens at all is appalling, however, it seems they have no regard for either their Staff, or their Clients.

Hoping for a favourable outcome for all,

My name is ......... I am a resident in the ...........

I would like the Union to know that I am in full support of the grievances over institutional bullying, and I agree entirely with the statement " if staff are being bullied in the workplace, they cannot do their job in supporting some of society's most vulnerable people".

I happen to be one of those people.

I felt more support today from members of the Union picketing outside this project than I have received from Senior Management of St. Mungo's organisation.

Respectfully,
